Job Summary
The JROTC Army Instructor will assist in developing cadet citizenship, leadership, and physical fitness; manage and conduct JROTC activities per school policies; coordinate with the Senior Army Instructor on policy changes; prepare training materials and lesson plans; coordinate public affairs with local schools and community groups; recruit students and support curriculum with LET POI; maintain equipment accountability and documents (DA forms, JUMS reports); ensure clean, secure unit areas and adherence to regulations; participate in after-school activities (drill, Raider, saber, color guard, rifle, archery, DRONE, JLAB, JCLC); supervise and balance teaching duties among instructors; and comply with background checks and licensure requirements. Working environment includes light physical work and regular classroom/field/range instruction. Employment requires extensive background check and adherence to Richmond County Schools policies. Location is Rockingham, North Carolina, with an annual salary around $41,000 and a 12-month term.
Required Qualifications
- Must have an Associate’s or foreign equivalent degree from an accredited college or university.
- Must have or be qualified to hold an NC teaching license in Junior ROTC.
- Certified as an AI by Cadet Command.
- Meets Army standards, including clearing of CNACI Background check.
- Continuting Educ./Training: Maintain Licensure & CEUs.
- Must have or be qualified to hold a CDL and North Carolina School Bus certification/license.
