Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – Stepdown responsible for applying the nursing process to provide patient care, ensuring patient rights and confidentiality, coordinating patient care with other departments, and performing duties in alignment with Mercy’s mission and service standards. The role emphasizes professional accountability, evaluation of care effectiveness among direct care givers, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team in the Stepdown unit. Requires BLS certification and MO (or compact) RN licensure; BSN preferred and hospital experience is advantageous. Sign-on bonuses available for experienced and new graduate nurses. Shift: Day Shift, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM; Location: Mercy Hospital South, Saint Louis, MO.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure
- Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit
- Certifications: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
