Job Summary
Jr. Process Engineer assists with the design and development of process systems by supporting process simulations, heat and material balances, and equipment sizing. The role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality across design deliverables, participates in feasibility and optimization studies, process simulations, calculus, and safety reviews, and contributes to study reports and calculations. Works under supervision to apply foundational engineering principles and industry standards, with responsibilities including process flow diagram development, HAZOP/HAZID/SIL studies, redlining and backchecking of diagrams, development of process conditions for equipment (pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, fired heaters, distillation columns), and performing tasks using standard procedures. Occasional travel to off-site locations and field work may be required.
Required Qualifications
- BSc, MSc or equivalent in Process / Chemical Engineering is required
- 3-7 years of experience
- NCEES Engineering-in-Training preferred
- Ability to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to Process Engineering
- High level of commitment to safety
- Highly motivated and positive attitude
- Possess good interpersonal skills and excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Software: HYSYS, Aspen Flare System Analyzer, BR&E ProMax, VMG Symmetry; advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) preferred
