Job Summary
Design, develop, test, and support controls systems including pneumatics, servos, VFDs, and robotic integration under Sr. Level supervision. Create software designs for customized manufacturing automation and safety systems, architect well-documented programs, and commission products onsite at customer facilities. Generate accurate Bill of Materials, define external supplier parts, and produce customer documentation such as user manuals and diagrams. Troubleshoot difficult automation issues with direction from senior personnel and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients while representing the company in the field. Respond to after-hours and weekend communications within a timely manner and support manufacturing processes within operations.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in process control and automation
- Proficient with MS Office productivity software
- Proficient with reading and using AutoCAD Electrical
- Strong working knowledge with Allen Bradley PLCs and RSLogix 5000,500
- HMI / OIT Development experience with Rockwell and/or Wonderware
- Able to efficiently plan work tasks to meet company goals
- Critical thinking with good problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments
- Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment
- Good understanding of mechanical principals
- Able to travel up to 40% at times
- Able to work a flexible schedule and adjust to changing business needs including possible emergency call-out, extended hours and some out-of-town and overnight work
- Willing to participate in Pillar Innovation's Drug and Alcohol policy, which includes preemployment, random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing as requested
- Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
- Required to wear safety equipment: as per OSHA requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, lanyard, fire retardant, protective eye wear, etc.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in process control and automation is preferred
