Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the building principal, the classroom teacher is to provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth to enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Develops and implements lesson plans for the curriculum program assigned; presents subject matter following state/district guidelines; differentiates instruction to meet individual student needs; uses data to drive instructional decisions; collaborates with teams to modify curricula; supervises paraprofessionals/volunteers; utilizes technology in teaching and learning; assesses student achievement; maintains a positive classroom environment; upholds district policies; prepares for parent-teacher conferences; and demonstrates professional development and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Educator License with and/or Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Science, and Science Endorsement
- Demonstrated capabilities in leadership, public and community relations, and academic competence
- Applicants must possess effective behavior management skills
- Applicants must be able to structure a classroom to maximize student learning
- Applicant must be able to establish effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge of the course outlines, curriculum, and text used
