Job Summary
Build and improve frontend features in JavaScript, creating clean, responsive interfaces matching in-house designs. Contribute to backend development in Ruby on Rails while delivering reliable, well-tested features across the stack. Debug issues to improve application stability and collaborate on product and platform improvements. This role emphasizes polished user experiences in both frontend and backend code within a small team environment. Applicants must reside in Northern Utah and meet the four-days-per-week in-office requirement.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of professional software development experience
- Strong JavaScript skills and experience building production web features
- Working knowledge of Ruby on Rails or a comparable backend framework
- Comfort contributing to both frontend and backend code
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment
- Ability to meet the required hybrid schedule: four days per week in the West Valley City office
- Currently reside in Northern Utah
- Be able to reliably commute to the office for the required in-person schedule
- Attend an in-person interview in the Salt Lake City area
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with React
- Experience using Ruby on Rails in production
- Familiarity with ecommerce applications
- Experience with APIs, relational databases, background jobs, and/or Docker
- Experience with Spree or Avo ruby gems
