Job Summary
Conduct pre-estimate meetings with project managers and business line management to plan bid strategy and ascertain methods of performance. Prepare detailed estimates by performing quantity take-offs, determining manpower and equipment requirements, and analyzing blueprints and specifications to calculate time, cost, and labor. Assist in obtaining firm quotes for material suppliers, equipment, and subcontractors while reviewing data to determine material and labor requirements. Compute cost factors to prepare estimates for management purposes such as planning, organizing, scheduling work, and selecting vendors. Consult with clients, vendors, and support groups to resolve issues and formulate estimates, specializing in areas like tool, fixture, production, or construction costs. Process final cost data from projects for use in the corporate database.
Required Qualifications
- 2 -3 years'relevantestimating experience like materials takeoff
- Expertise in MS Office Excel Systems
- Ability to read ISO Specs
- Must be familiar with materials, specifications, and pipe fabrication methods
- Previous fabrication experience and ability to read engineering drawings
- Ability to reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions
- Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently constantly to to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
