Job Summary
Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates for educational, healthcare, commercial, and public agency projects using established methodologies. Perform detailed quantity take-offs and review blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to calculate material, labor, and equipment costs. Assist the CM team in evaluating project delivery methods, reviewing constructability, and validating contractor and subcontractor pricing during bid leveling. Analyze construction change orders and track budget variations throughout the construction phase. Collaborate with senior estimators, construction managers, and clients to ensure alignment on scope and budget. Requires 3-5 years of construction estimating experience, a Bachelor's degree, and proficiency in Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, and Excel.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of direct construction estimating experience
- Experience specifically within a construction management or general contracting environment
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Proficiency in industry-standard estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, RSMeans, Timberline)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Strong understanding of building construction methods, materials, project sequencing, and local New York market pricing
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders
