Job Summary
Respond to and resolve guest repair requests with little to no supervision, performing preventive maintenance on tools and equipment. Visually inspect machinery, operate shut-off valves, and troubleshoot basic repairs on MEP systems, pumps, motors, and plumbing fixtures. Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts, and communicate daily activities and hazards to other shifts using approved programs. Program TVs, perform minor drywall and trim repairs, and conduct Engineer on Duty rounds while adhering to all safety policies and lockout/tag-out procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years job related maintenance experience or engineering
- High School graduate or equivalent vocational training
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding
- Knowledge of proper equipment usage and repair
- Display proficiency in any one of the following categories, above average skills in two more of the following categories and basic skills in the remaining categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building management
- Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks
- Display basic ability to repair or replace PVC copper pipe (including soldering)
- Display ability to perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds
- Display proficiency in any one of the following categories, above average skills in two more of the following categories and basic skills in the remaining categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building management
- Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks
- Display basic ability to repair or replace PVC copper pipe (including soldering)
- Display ability to perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
- Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders
- Reach overhead and below the knees, repetitive movements, and other movements including bending, twisting, pulling/pushing, and stooping, grasping, and crawling to complete some tasks
Desired Qualifications
- Previous luxury or lifestyle hotel experience strongly preferred
