Jr. Electrical Estimator

Job Summary
Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs using estimating software and construction drawings to support bid preparation and pricing. Compile vendor and subcontractor quotes, input data accurately, and organize complete bid packages for review before deadlines. Analyze electrical, mechanical, and architectural documents to quantify scope items and maintain estimating logs for historical reference. Request pricing breakouts for addenda and estimate revisions while tracking bidding metrics to support the overall scorecard. Attend weekly estimating and sales meetings to discuss bid status and solve problems, and communicate effectively with engineers, architects, and general contractors. Learn the National Electric Code and department strategies under the guidance of senior estimators to build technical proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0–2 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field
- Basic computer and math skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a reference check
- Ability to comply with all safety regulations in the office and on the job site
