Job Summary
Jr. Crew Chief leads field surveying operations in the Oil & Gas sector, staking well locations, establishing section corners, and staking access roads with slope staking. Oversees field assistants to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and safety, performs topographic surveys and cross-sectioning, manages field data and notes, interprets plans, and maintains equipment and client relations. Requires a High School Diploma or GED, background in math/geometry/trigonometry, 6–12 months of survey field experience, and a valid driver's license. Proficiency with survey instruments (levels, GPS, total stations) and electronic data collection is expected; DISA Compliance participation is required. Travel is involved; the role is full-time and non-exempt.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Background in math, geometry, and trigonometry
- 6–12 months of experience as a Survey Field Assistant and/or related schooling
- Valid driver’s license
- MVR must meet company requirements throughout employment
- Experience using survey measuring instruments (levels, GPS equipment, total stations) and electronic data collection systems
- Strong math and computer skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
