Job Summary
The Jr. Buyer supports the purchasing team by managing purchase orders, coordinating vendor deliveries, and assisting with inventory management to prevent supply disruption. Responsibilities include processing and tracking purchase orders, monitoring shipment/delivery schedules, coordinating with suppliers on order status and pricing, maintaining purchasing records, supporting supplier selection and RFQ processes, and assisting with total cost of ownership analyses under senior buyer direction. The role requires collaboration with Finance and Accounting to resolve price discrepancies, responding to supply disruptions to minimize production impact, generating purchasing reports, and ensuring compliance with TAB policies. Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier coordination, ERP/MRP systems, Lean and ISO-9001 quality requirements, and proficient MS Office skills are needed. Candidate should have an Associate or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), 1-2 years purchasing experience, ISO-9001 exposure, ERP Syteline experience, and APICS CPIM/CSCP certification or active pursuit. This is a full-time, entry-level position based in Austin, TX, with background checks and drug screening, and an emphasis on equal opportunity employment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or currently in progress.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to an ISO-9001 quality system environment.
- Experience with ERP Syteline or comparable platform.
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification, or active pursuit of certification.
