Job Summary
Journeyworker (DOL Journeyman Lineman) at PEC Johnson City, TX is responsible for the operation, maintenance, construction and repair of transmission and distribution systems. Duties include constructing and maintaining overhead and underground electric lines and equipment, inspecting power lines and substations, reporting hazards, operating vehicles and equipment, locating causes of power outages, rubber glove work on energized lines, working on de-energized lines, participating in training, training others, ensuring safety compliance, lead/monitoring job briefings, approving purchasing invoices and work orders, managing construction projects, and participating in emergency restoration and call-out duties. Skills and knowledge areas include electricity safety practices and codes, voltage testing equipment, customer service, leadership, communication, time management, problem solving, and teaching others to troubleshoot and restore power.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of DOL program requirements for Journeyworker
- Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Motor Vehicle Report that comply with PEC policy
