Job Summary
Conduct daily troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on production equipment, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, and hydraulic systems, to maintain facility uptime during shifts. Operate hoisting devices to position machinery for assembly, installation, and repair while reading blueprints and schematics to diagnose issues. Inspect mechanical systems, repair hydraulic equipment and cylinders, and verify all repairs with proper documentation. Work in a safe manner using required PPE and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Requires a valid Journeyperson Millwright certification and ability to work rotating day, evening, weekend, and graveyard shifts. Located in Edson, Alberta, within West Fraser's sawmill division.
Required Qualifications
- A valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Millwright Certification
- Ability to read blue prints, plans and schematics
- Mechanical aptitude

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Organizational and planning skills
- Flexible schedule to work day, evening, weekend and graveyard shifts
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a sawmill or planer mill
- A Red Seal Certificate
- A Welding Certificate
- Knowledge of hydraulics
