Job Summary
Inspect, maintain, repair, and service heavy mining equipment in shop and field environments while diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issues. Disassemble, repair, replace, and reassemble components to OEM specifications, align, level, test, and commission equipment using precision measurement tools. Complete accurate work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation while working independently in the field to support apprentices and fellow tradespeople. Perform troubleshooting on industry-leading mining equipment across Canada and the USA with up to 75% travel, operating on a 7x7, 12-hour rotation schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyperson Millwright certification
- Red Seal certification
- 3–5 years of experience in mining, heavy equipment, construction, or related industries
- Experience working with mining equipment and P&H mining products
- Strong troubleshooting skills with proven experience diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer specifications
- Customer-focused mindset with experience working directly with clients on-site
- Ability to safely lift 50lbs. unassisted
- No restrictions to access any mine site
- Basic welding, cutting, and fabrication capabilities
- Experience working in remote or field-service environments
- 7x7, 12h/day rotation of days and nights
- Drug & alcohol testing
- Physical demand fit testing
- RCMP criminal record check
- Submission of 5-year provincial driving record
- Up to 75% travel within Canada and the USA
