Job Summary
Journeyperson Millwright needed for Vanderwell's manufacturing facilities in Slave Lake, Alberta. Responsibilities include changing saws and knives, lubricating mill floor equipment, replacing tool tips on de-barkers, calibrating trim saws and checking lugs, receiving equipment status reports from operators, and identifying problems and repairs to keep operations running. Expect physical work with exposure to hazards, lifting heavy objects, and climbing on equipment, with a 7-on/7-off schedule (days and nights) and available camp housing for non-local candidates. Strong teamwork and communication skills required; journeyperson industrial mechanic certification and relevant industrial experience are essential. Overtime opportunities available.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic certification
- minimum 3-5 years of industrial experience preferably in a sawmill
- proficient written and verbal communication skills
- ability to work at different heights
- exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery
