Journeyperson Maintenance Electrician

Job Summary
Order and organize materials, repair equipment, and install new electrical systems for Forges, CNC machines, and industrial furnaces. Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and apply comprehensive knowledge of power systems up to 1000v, IGBT drives, and multi-voltage controls. Supervise Apprentice Electricians, prioritize dispatch requests, and delegate tasks while following Lean manufacturing guidelines. Complete associated paperwork and manage a clean work environment. Rotating shift work between day, afternoon, and occasional night shifts Monday through Friday, with Saturday rotations every 4-6 weeks. Own hand tools required.
Required Qualifications
- Red seal Electrician ticket
- Dual ticketed tradesman
- Able to read and understand schematics, detailed OEM installation, and maintenance procedures
- Understanding measuring equipment / tools
- Mathematical aptitude
- Knowledge of Electrical Code
- Mechanically inclined and/or willing to grow knowledge in mechanics role
- Ability to supervise and multi-task
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Reliable
- Must have own hand tools
- Drug and alcohol testing
- Fitness-to-work testing
- Background check
- Rotating shift work
- Rotating between day and afternoon shifts Monday to Friday
- Rotating Saturday shift work (once every 4-6 weeks)
- Night shift may be required dependent on business conditions
- In-town work/no travel required
Desired Qualifications
- Dual ticketed tradesperson would be considered an asset, specifically Millwright or Welding
- Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing Principles and Total Productive Maintenance
- Knowledge in a variety of trades is extremely beneficial
- Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and pneumatics experience
- Knowledge and experience in welding (OAW, GMAW, MIG, SMAW)
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft office, word, and access)
