Job Summary
Diagnose faults and perform running repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems for Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar equipment in shop and field environments. Conduct field diagnosis using computerized testing equipment to determine repair extent, while completing preventative maintenance across a wide range of machinery. Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner, utilizing Caterpillar SIS and ET daily to ensure maximum value for work performed. Complete technical documentation including service reports, warranty notes, and crossover records. Maintain a positive, safety-oriented work ethic with the ability to operate under minimal supervision while supporting customers throughout BC and the Yukon.
Required Qualifications
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification (On-Road & Off Road)
- 3+ years demonstrated experience in a Field Truck
- Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver abstract
- Willingness to participate and complete additional training
- Self-motivated, computer literate, and safety orientated with the ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, Fitness testing and a Clear Background check)
- Ability to wear a respirator where applicable
