Job Summary
Coordinate and execute construction activities for high voltage and medium voltage electrical infrastructure, leading a team of apprentices and laborers in safe, productive work. Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to assign duties, while measuring, cutting, and bending wire and conduit using hand and power tools. Test, troubleshoot, and commission MV electrical systems, ensuring proper termination and integration of switchgear, transformers, and junction boxes. Manage material inventory, track equipment, and preplan daily tasks to keep projects on schedule. Travel to various job sites on limited notice to perform these duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three or more years of related experience in construction
- Must possess strong communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and work within timelines
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety
- Read blueprints skillfully
- Must be able to lift, position, and fasten objects
- Must be available for travel to different jobsites on a limited notice
- Must be able to work under immediate and close supervision according to standard instructions and established procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Training and experience in electrical/high voltage substations
- Experience with LV systems, blueprints, and control wiring terminations
