Job Summary
Journeyman Station Meter & Relay Technician responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, adjusting, troubleshooting and repairing substation equipment including protective relays, meters, and SCADA-related controls. Performs specialized tests such as power factor testing, transformer turns ratio testing, and megger testing; operates substation equipment and may work in confined spaces or at heights with bucket/boom trucks. Requires completing an electrical apprenticeship and a high school diploma or GED, with 4+ years in the meter and relay trade. Safety and company standards are emphasized; may work long hours during emergencies and may travel or work independently or with others.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Has successfully completed an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent program.
- 4+ years experience in the meter & relay trade.
- Must pass a pre-qualifying skills test.
