Job Summary
Journeyman Software Developer for JWAC support in Dahlgren, VA. Responsible for implementing, solving problems, maintaining, and supporting agile software development to modernize systems. Applies DevSecOps perspectives from both OS and software development standpoints. Contributes to solutions across a range of moderate-scale problems, working largely independently with some guidance. Focuses on both back-end and front-end development using languages and tools including Python, Go, PowerShell, Bash, Git, .NET, C#, Java, JavaScript, SQL, and SDLC practices, with expertise in Web Front End and Back End Development, API Development, UI/UX, AngularJS, and React.js. Experience with Linux/Windows administration is a plus. Requires 1+ years of software development experience, scripting/programming experience, version control, automation, CI/CD (GitLab), containerization, and relevant fundamentals. HS diploma or GED required; ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT II Certification (Security+) within 30 days; US Citizenship and DoD security clearance required. Location is Dahlgren, VA with up to 10% travel; role is full-time and US-based.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience working on software development teams
- 1+ years of experience with scripting and/or programming, including Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go, C#, or Java
- 1+ years of experience with version control systems
- Experience with system automation via PowerShell, Ansible, or Bash
- Experience with deploying applications and CI/CD tools, including GitLab
- Experience with application containerization
- Knowledge of programming fundamentals, concepts, and language mechanics
- HS diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT II Certification, including Security+, within 30 days of start date
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have and be able to maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Security clearance at the appropriate level.
