Job Summary
Diagnose plumbing system problems, perform repairs, replacements, installations, and preventive maintenance for residential, commercial, and mechanical projects. Read plans, specifications, and schematics while troubleshooting leaks, drainage issues, and equipment failures. Use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and gauges safely to work with piping, fixtures, valves, water heaters, and related systems. Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and supervisors, and document all work, materials, and findings. Follow applicable codes, safety procedures, and company standards while maintaining a clean work area and operating company vehicles as required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas Journeyman Plumber license
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on plumbing experience, or equivalent qualifying field experience associated with obtaining a Texas Journeyman Plumber license
- Strong troubleshooting, repair, installation, and plumbing system diagnostic skills
- Working knowledge of applicable plumbing codes, safety procedures, and industry best practices
- Ability to use plumbing tools, power tools, testing equipment, and measuring instruments
- Ability to perform service, installation, maintenance, or construction plumbing work depending on the opportunity
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members
- Valid driver's license may be required depending on the employer and position
- Ability to safely perform the physical functions normally associated with plumbing work, with or without reasonable accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- Commercial plumbing, residential service plumbing, mechanical construction, drain and sewer, water heater, piping, blueprint reading, and plumbing maintenance experience may be valuable depending on the employer
