Job Summary
Install all plumbing systems including waste/vent, storm, and domestic water applications per code, specifications, and contract documents. Perform testing, inspecting, and recording for rough-in installations while maintaining lockout/tag-out procedures and conserving materials. Coordinate tasks under general supervision, mentor apprentices, and update As-Built drawings. Demonstrate reliable judgment in resolving technical issues and promoting a safe working environment. Full-time schedule required with local Chandler or Phoenix, AZ location.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years' experience
- Must have own hand tools
- Must have reliable transportation to job-site
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well with others
- Good problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding of IPC and UPC building codes
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Ability to accurately layout building systems
- Ability to set up and perform plumbing tests
- Ability to identify potential issues during installation and elevate them to Foreman/Gen Foreman
- Ability to take off and communicate tool and material requirements to the supervisor
- Ability to create a safe working environment, and understands OSHA regulations
- Management and ability to train apprentice tradesmen
- Experience with copper, PVC and cast-iron installations
- Ability to pass a pre-employment plumbing exam
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in commercial plumbing preferred
- Experience with refrigerant piping and medical gas preferred
- Med Gas Certification preferred but not required
