Job Summary
Journeyman Plumber for McCarthy Building Companies in the Mesa, AZ area. Responsible for comprehensive knowledge and installation of plumbing systems including Waste and Vent, Storm, Domestic Water, Compressed Air, Condensate Drain, Natural Gas, Process Utilities, Fixtures and Pumps; skilled in copper, PVC, PCV, poly, stainless steel, and aluminum pipe applications. Performs testing, inspecting, and recording per building codes and project specifications; reads and interprets drawings; coordinates tasks; mentors apprentices; maintains tools and equipment; adheres to lockout/tag-out procedures and safety guidelines; promotes project safety and profitability; contributes input for As-Built records. Minimum 4 years of experience required; $1.00 increase to base pay if licensed; equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years experience in commercial plumbing
- Ability to pass a pre-employment plumbing exam
- Experience with copper, PVC and cast-iron installations
- Experience with refrigerant piping and medical gas preferred
- Med Gas Certification preferred but not required
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Ability to accurately layout building systems
- Management and ability to train apprentice tradesmen
- Ability to create a safe working environment, and understands OSHA regulations
- Must have own hand tools
- Must have reliable transportation to job-site
