Job Summary
Prepare concrete substrates using sanding, scraping, power washing, grinding, and media blasting. Mix and apply epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurethane, and urethane cement floor systems, along with primers, paints, stains, and specialty coatings. Broadcast decorative or anti-slip media, apply sealers, and clear coats to spec. Interpret blueprints, specifications, product data sheets, and work orders to determine coating requirements. Work in confined spaces, at heights, and on scaffolding or lifts as needed. Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and work areas while following OSHA and union safety standards. Collaborate with other trades and project managers to ensure timely completion. Requires valid Journeyman Painter certification, union card, and ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Full-time union scale pay in Arizona.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
- Valid Journeyman Painter certification or union card (IUPAT or equivalent)
- Proficiency with various painting tools and techniques, including HVLP and airless spray systems
- Knowledge of surface preparation standards (e.g., SSPC/NACE)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and safety data sheets
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various environmental conditions
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Pre-hire drug testing required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with high-performance floor coatings and specialty finishes
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
