Job Summary
Perform teardown, inspection, repair, and reassembly of hydroelectric generating units and auxiliary equipment under the direction of the Lead Millwright. Conduct precision measurements and alignments using micrometers and laser equipment; record findings in overhaul logs. Rig, sling, and assist in directing crane lifts of heavy components in accordance with approved lift plans. Apply and comply with all LOTO, confined space entry, and site safety procedures; actively participate in pre-job briefs. Guide the Helper on correct techniques and safe work practices. Identify wear, damage, or out-of-tolerance conditions during inspection and report findings promptly. Maintain a clean work site and complete work order documentation accurately. Adapt to changing priorities and perform additional duties as directed. This role offers flexibility for remote work with a heavy travel expectation (~80%) across hydropower assets.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4–6 years of millwright experience
- Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent
- Experience with rotating heavy equipment
- Demonstrated proficiency with precision measuring instruments and alignment equipment
- Current LOTO and confined space entry training
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform manual tasks including but not limited to: The operation of hand and power tools and the ability to lift at least 50 lbs
- Being able to bend and maneuver in tight, cramped quarters including turbine pits and generator enclosures
- Ability to work in hot, noisy, wet, and confined environments
- Comfortability working at heights and around water
- Ability to work with and wear respiratory protection
- Walk, stand, stoop, kneel, climb, and bend for prolonged periods of time
- Grip and manually manipulate hand tools, torque equipment, and machine parts, often in repetitive motion
- Read and identify labels, gauges, measurement instruments, and indicators encountered in performing job duties
- Possess clear and effective verbal communication in all circumstances, including emergency situations
- An unwavering commitment to safety for yourself, your crew, and the public
- Ability to follow and carry out instructions from the Lead Millwright with minimal supervision on standard tasks
Desired Qualifications

- Basic experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Teams) for documentation and communication
