Job Summary
Process, cut, trim, scrape, package, tie, wrap, weigh, price, and label meat products while maintaining clean work areas and proper temperatures in coolers, freezers, and cases. Direct subordinates on plan of action, minimize shrink through proper product handling, and promote sales via courteous customer service. Travel between Grand Union stores in Saranac Lake and Peru, NY, as directed. Requires experience with meat preparation, basic math, and operating equipment like slicers and band saws.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions

- Adequate knowledge of the preparation of different cuts of meat
- Experience with the preparation of different cuts of meat in retail stores
- Ability to operate: Knives, Computerized scales, Case Cutter, Bandsaw; Patty Machine, Marking Gun, Grinder, Cubing Machine, Pallet Jack, Wrapping Machine, Baler/Compactor, Walkie Stacker, Tie Machine, Slicer, Eycruder Bone Duster, Sausage maker, Chicken Splitter
