Job Summary
Conduct marine engineering analysis, perform design reviews, and evaluate constructability for ship machinery and propulsion systems. Assist in design, development, and evaluation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment such as propulsion and power generation systems. Support the US Coast Guard by reviewing third-party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components. Lead development of technical data packages, conduct trade studies regarding ship configuration, and create graphical representations of structures and systems. Inspect equipment, prepare technical reports, and assist in research of advanced engineering designs. This role provides comprehensive lifecycle engineering support to the USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center, focusing on upgrading and sustaining cutters and boats to ensure operational effectiveness, safety, and compliance with current and future mission requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance
- At least 3+ years of experience in marine specific fields (i.e. propulsion systems, power-generation systems, fluids and hydraulics)
- Experience with GE LM2500 or MTU Engines/Generators
