Job Summary
Inspect and service equipment to prevent failures, diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues, and identify root causes of equipment problems. Set up and test new machinery or systems while strictly following OSHA and company safety standards. Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used. Requires completed apprenticeship, journeyman certification, and ability to work shifts including nights or weekends in industrial settings such as warehouses, manufacturing plants, or commercial facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical and electrical systems (motors, conveyors, PLCs, etc.)
- Blueprint and schematic reading
- Use of hand and power tools
- Problem-solving and critical thinking
- Basic computer or CMMS (maintenance software) skills
- Completed apprenticeship, trade school, or several years of experience
- Journeyman certification (in some trades/regions)
- Ability to work shifts, including nights or weekends
- Physical ability for lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods
- Professionalism
- Adherence to safety protocols
- Team player
