Job Summary
Operate advanced Multi-tasking CNC equipment, including Mazak and DMG machines, to machine parts to exact specifications while maintaining a clean, organized work area. Program, set up, and run multiple CNC machines to support production goals, perform complex setups for dual spindle and dual turret operations, and operate manual lathes and mills for specialty tasks. Manage daily CNC process flow by staging materials and tools, reduce setup times, and mentor other employees in safe operation. Verify machined dimensions using calibrated gauges, complete work order documentation, and conduct routine equipment maintenance. Work independently to meet production requirements, interpret engineering drawings, and communicate tooling needs to the manager.
Required Qualifications
- Program, set up, and operation of Mazak and DMG CNC machines
- Proven ability to create Mazatrol programs or edit complex G-code programs
- Proven ability to set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines equipped with dual spindles and dual turrets for both lathe and mill operations
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and follow machining specifications with accuracy
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.) to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Strong mechanical aptitude with solid knowledge of tooling, speeds/feeds, and machining processes
Desired Qualifications
- Journeyman Machinist certification (or equivalent)
- Equivalent experience will be fully considered
- Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts, with strong safety awareness and consistent adherence to safe-work practices
- Ability to create offline programs is an asset
