Job Summary
Perform safe and efficient operation of equipment and tools necessary for maintenance on electrical equipment. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment and structures in and around the power plant, including steam generators, turbine generators, and compressors. Execute machining, rigging, welding, piping, lubricating, insulating, painting, and cleaning tasks to ensure proper operation and appearance of grounds. Read and interpret prints, sketches, and technical manuals while possessing knowledge of machine shop equipment and precision instruments. Work from heights as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of five years' experience in heavy industrial mechanical repair
- Two of those years' performing machinist duties
- Obtain a passing result from the applicable pre-employment test(s) including successfully completing the established AECI machining test(s) pre and post hire
- Basic computer skills
- Demonstrate a strong mechanical ability
- Willingness to learn all components of the entire power plant
- Required to read and interpret prints, sketches, and technical manuals
- Required to work from heights
