Job Summary
Journeyman Lineman position responsible for building, maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing overhead and underground distribution power lines and related equipment. Works in a line crew, climbs poles, uses hand tools and equipment, loads materials onto trucks, and operates in variable hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Requires ability to safely perform duties as per company specifications, review work orders for materials, and potentially participate in a Journeyman Development Program if designated as apprentice. Must reside within 30 minutes of Pascagoula, MS headquarters or relocate at personal expense; may work anywhere within the division. Requires successful CAST test, MS CDL within 6 months, and adherence to safety procedures; 5 years distribution line crew experience preferred; strong communication, teamwork, and safety focus.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass or have passed the CAST
- Must currently have or possess the ability to obtain a valid Mississippi Commercial Drivers license within 6 months of employment
- Must maintain weight to comply with equipment manufacturer's restrictions
- Must be available for call out overtime work, scheduled overtime work, and overnight travel as needed
- Availability for timely response to call outs are required
