Job Summary
Install, troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate industrial instrumentation, electrical, and control systems, including continuous emissions monitoring (CEMS) and process control devices like transmitters, analyzers, and PLCs. Support power generation and industrial equipment maintenance through preventive and predictive diagnostics to minimize downtime. Rebuild components per manufacturer specs, read P&IDs and schematics, and coordinate with operations and engineering teams during start-ups and shutdowns. Maintain accurate calibration records and communicate equipment status clearly. Perform all work in compliance with Health & Safety standards and OHS regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Instrumentation Technician certificate
- Red Seal Instrumentation Technician certification
- Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation
- Strong knowledge of electrical principles
- Strong knowledge of voltage/current relationships
- Valid H2S Alive certification
- Fall Protection certification
- Standard First Aid (Level A or C with CPR/AED)
- CSTS 2020 certification
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Experience with DCS systems
- Experience with HMI systems
- Programming experience with PLCs, DCS, or HMIs
- Troubleshooting experience with PLCs, DCS, or HMIs
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
- Ability to read and interpret schematics
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs
- Experience in gas plants
- Experience in power plants
- Experience in industrial manufacturing environments
- Proficiency with test and calibration equipment
- Proficiency with multimeters
- Proficiency with loop calibrators
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes
- Skill using hand tools for installation and maintenance
- Skill using electrical tools for installation and maintenance
- Strong communication skills
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong teamwork skills
- Valid driver's licence
