Job Summary
Industrial Electrician role at a hydrogen fueling station under a public government work program. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of electrical systems and equipment powering hydrogen production, compression, storage, dispensing, and facility infrastructure. Reads and interprets electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical manuals; ensures compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and local regulations; tests systems using meters and diagnostic equipment; supports commissioning and startup activities; maintains emergency shutdown systems, safety interlocks, gas detection, and fire protection controls; participates in on-call and emergency response; collaborates with operations, engineering, and contractors to ensure safe, efficient facility performance. Requires a journeyman electrician credential and 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience; HS diploma or GED; knowledge of hydrogen/natural gas environments and related safety practices; HVAC/SCADA/intrinsically safe systems and hazardous locations knowledge are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent electrical trade qualification
- Minimum 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems up to 480V
- Experience with PLCs, motor controls, instrumentation, and automation systems
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures
- Valid driver’s license
