Job Summary
Journeyman I will perform structural steel erection, welding, fabrication, and rigging, including layout, assembly, and installation of beams, columns, and trusses; operate welding equipment (MIG, stick, oxyacetylene), interpret blueprints and shop drawings, assist with rigging and hoisting using cranes, inspect rigging for wear, and adhere to safety regulations while coordinating with crew members to ensure quality, efficiency, and timely completion of construction tasks.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training in ironworking
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in structural steel erection and welding
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
- Proficiency in reading construction plans, blueprints, and welding symbols
- Strong technical skills in steel fabrication, welding, and rigging
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to steel erection and construction
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
