Job Summary
Read blueprints and technical specifications to measure, lay out, and assemble HVAC/R components for residential, commercial, and light industrial projects. Install, troubleshoot, and repair systems using welding and brazing equipment while testing for leaks and managing refrigerant charges. Diagnose defects to replace defective parts, complete work orders and estimates, and supervise apprentices with technical guidance. Communicate professionally with customers regarding system performance and required repairs. Requires Journeyperson Certification, 3–5 years of hands-on experience, and valid safety certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyperson Certification in HVAC/R or Refrigeration Mechanics
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program
- Valid safety certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC/R service and installation
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting equipment, working in confined spaces, and climbing ladders or scaffolding
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
