Job Summary
Provide service, maintenance, and repair on gas compressors and engines in gas plants and field facilities as a Journeyman Heavy Duty/Millwright. Responsibilities include startup, servicing, repairs, overhauls, warranty work (often solo in remote locations), diagnosing engine/compressor problems, interpreting flow sheets/drawings, ensuring proper settings and alignments, prioritizing downtime and customer impact, maintaining service documentation, and guiding apprentice mechanics. Requires certification or apprenticeship level credentials, customer-service orientation, strong administrative/organizational skills, ability to work remotely, and willingness to travel 25–50% overnight. Knowledge of gas compression packages, panels, controls, instrumentation, and experience with Waukesha, Caterpillar, and natural gas driven compression are assets. Location: Kindersley, SK, Canada; travel and onsite work in remote locations are part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- 3rd or 4th year apprentice or Journeyman Millwright or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification
- 2+ years’ experience with Waukesha, Caterpillar, and natural gas driven compression
- Customer service skills
- Excellent administration, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in remote locations without supervision
- Experience with new package commissioning is an asset
- Strong skills with the Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Flexibility for 25–50% overnight travel
