Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic *Fort St. John

Compression Service Mechanic (Journeyman Millwright / Heavy Duty Mechanic) to provide service, maintenance, and repair work on gas compressors and engines in gas plants and adjacent field facilities. The successful applicant will help to maintain, develop and grow business and customer relations. Key responsibilities include applying knowledge of gas compression packages and engine/compressor life cycles to optimize equipment run times; interpreting flow sheets and drawings; understanding mounting, alignment, commissioning, package operations, mechanical components, instrumentation, and electronics; performing startups, servicing, repairs, overhauls, warranty work (often alone in remote locations); diagnosing and troubleshooting engine/compressor problems; providing recommendations to Service Coordinator and clients; verifying settings and adjustments (alignment, rod run out, fuel gas pressure and settings, crankcase pressure, flange torqueing, cooler checks, etc.); prioritizing unit repairs based on downtime and customer importance; delivering high levels of customer service; maintaining documentation of services, labour time, expenses, and parts orders; completing paper work related to startups, servicing, warranty work; directing apprentice mechanics; and ordering parts as necessary.
