Job Summary
Deliver hands-on solar installation instruction, develop curriculum, and mentor learners to ensure a safe, code-compliant, and highly skilled electrical workforce. Lead electrical installations on solar projects (AC/DC, energy storage, EV chargers, and main service upgrades) and act as the licensed Journeyman Electrician on job sites. Manage crews of volunteers, trainees, and staff; coordinate with inspectors, utilities, and permitting agencies; troubleshoot field issues; assist in procuring electrical equipment; and collaborate with GRID Colorado/HQ teams. Develop and adapt training plans aligned with NEC and current industry technology; mentor participants, track progress, and evaluate outcomes. Maintain safety/OSHA compliance, prepare documentation, and engage community partners to advance GRID’s mission. Requires active Colorado Journeyman Electrician license and 3–5 years of electrical installation experience; ability to work outdoors and lift 50+ lbs; valid Colorado driver’s license; occasional travel up to 25% and flexibility for nights/weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Active Colorado Journeyman Electrician license, in good standing
- Minimum 3–5 years of electrical installation experience (solar PV preferred)
- Strong understanding of NEC and local electrical codes
- Experience leading teams or supervising job sites
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and perform physically fast-paced tasks
- The position requires driving; you must hold a valid driver’s license from Colorado
