Job Summary
Journeyman Electrician (Switchgear) Traveling nationwide performing electrical installation and service tasks to required specifications. Responsibilities include bending conduit, pulling wire, installing fixtures, devices, switchgear, and branch circuits; reading and interpreting blueprints and layout drawings; mentoring, directing, and supervising apprentices; and ensuring compliance with codes and safety regulations. The role requires wiring and testing of control systems and power distribution components, troubleshooting electrical systems with testing instruments, and generating materials lists. The position is remote-friendly within the US, with housing paid and per diem, PTO, and comprehensive benefits; travel to project sites across the country is expected. Relevant skills include reading schematics, project layout, equipment terminations, and strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and safety mindset.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least four years in the electrical trade
- Current state Electrical Journeyman license preferred
- Valid state-issued driver
- Advanced knowledge of electrical theory and NEC/code
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Ability to travel by car and plane with overnight travel
- Current OSHA 10 certification
- Current Elevate Work Platform certification preferred
- Current Lock Out/Tag Out Training certification preferred
- Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Current NFPA 70E Arc Flash Training certification preferred
