Job Summary
Plan, lay-out, install, test, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment, and control systems in accordance with plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Maintain positive crew relationships, produce high-quality work safely and productively, and provide feedback to ensure materials, tools, and information are available. Inspect subordinate work for accuracy and compliance, explain deficiencies, and take corrective action. Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, and material storage. Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions, including climbing and maintaining balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. Lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of three years (level I), four years (level II), five years (level III) and six plus years (level Sr.) experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry
- Must have an in-depth understanding of the electrician trade
- Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards
- Must be able to effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work
- Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must have all necessary licenses for the jurisdiction in which the work is to be performed
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
- Must be able to lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs on an occasional basis
- Must be required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
- Must be able to reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.
