Job Summary
Journeyman Electrician needed to install, test, move, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment for RTI facilities at Fort Belvoir, VA. Responsibilities include planning installations to code, interpreting diagrams/blueprints, testing for hazards, estimating required materials and obtaining vendor quotes, assisting with facilities projects, coordinating work with the team, and supporting safety inspections. The role requires the ability to obtain and retain a secret clearance, with Fibertek sponsoring the clearance investigation.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician (professional certification/license)
- Ability to obtain and retain a secret clearance; Fibertek will sponsor clearance investigation
- Familiarity with wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams/blueprints; prepare sketches showing wiring locations
- Knowledge of electrical codes; ability to plan installations
- Ability to test for hazards and repair faults in electrical systems
- Ability to estimate materials and obtain quotes from vendors
- Coordination with facilities maintenance team; may include event setup/tear down and other duties
- Adherence to safety protocols and inspections
