Job Summary
Conduct commercial and industrial electrical work, including reading blueprints, installing materials, and troubleshooting issues using test equipment. Actively participate in safety programs by attending weekly meetings, instructing apprentices, and reporting accidents or concerns to management. Maintain accurate time and cost coding records, perform layout work, and ensure all tasks meet QA/QC and third-party inspection standards. Stay current on NEC, NFPA, and OSHA codes while mentoring apprentices and working effectively as part of a team or independently. Report to work on time, follow camp rules in remote locations, and represent Samson Electric positively through professional behavior and ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizen or valid legal work status
- Valid State of Alaska Certificate of Fitness
- Valid driver's license
- Personal vehicle insurance
- Must pass pre-hire Drug & Alcohol screening
- Satisfactory criminal background check
- Solid understanding of the current NEC codebook
- NFPA 70E
- NFPA 72
- National Electrical Safety Code
- Familiarity with construction standards and methodologies, particularly in new commercial/industrial builds and commercial tenant improvements (T.I.s)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to read and interpret installation manuals
- Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics
- Ability to read and interpret sketches
- Ability to perform layout work accordingly
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
