Job Summary

Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations. Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components. Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance. Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, reactors, motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems. Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems. Conduct preventive maintenance program checks and keep maintenance records. May install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation. Assist with design and implementation of minor modifications on industrial equipment. Work in a noisy, hot, cold, or refrigerated environment as part of the C shift (10:30 PM to 7 AM) at Mountain Creek Farms, one of Canada's largest beef processors.

Required Qualifications

Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
3 years industrial electrician experience (inclusive of time spent as an electrician apprentice)
Strong electrical, instrumentation, automation, pneumatics experience
Experience with Medium Voltage, Weigh Scales, Vision Systems, HMI, Siemens S5/S7, Allen Bradley SLC5 PLC, VFD, Servomotors, Profibus / Ethernet Network Communications
Electrical design / construction / installation experience
Ability to assist with design and implementation / performance of minor modifications on industrial equipment
Strong decision making, problem solving troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and in a multifunctional team with minimum supervision
