Job Summary
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and aftertreatment systems on heavy-duty trucks, including engines, transmissions, and drivetrain components. Perform major repairs across brake, suspension, and HVAC systems while utilizing diagnostic software to troubleshoot advanced network communications. Oversee high-level service work and advanced preventative maintenance, ensuring all repairs meet quality and safety standards. Serve as a technical resource by mentoring apprentice and technician-level employees, maintaining an organized work area, and accurately documenting all completed work.
Required Qualifications
- 12 years of mechanical experience on heavy-duty trucks or equipment
- High school diploma or GED
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and lead technical repairs
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
- Must be able to work in a hands-on shop role with exposure to noise, heat, and shop conditions
Desired Qualifications
- OEM certifications or advanced technical training
- Extensive experience with diagnostic systems and electronic controls
- Experience performing DOT inspections and complex fault diagnosis
