Job Summary
Journeyman Carpenter at MatPel Builders in the San Francisco Bay Area. Main responsibilities include interpreting plans, laying out buildings including ceilings, floors, and walls, and coordinating with trades; installing, repairing, and adjusting doors, windows, cabinets, and hardware; framing, trim work, roofing/framing details, and waterproofing; maintaining safety per OSHA standards and upholding quality and design intent. Must have a 3-4 year carpentry apprenticeship plus at least 4 years of residential construction experience or 7+ years total, and a high school diploma or GED. Requires strong reading of plans, math/geometry skills, reliable, detail-oriented, self-directed, and excellent communication; physically able to perform duties and supervise others in a high-end residential environment.
