Job Summary
Ambitious journalist to join NZME's integrated newsroom in Auckland. Requirements include a journalism qualification (preferably with at least one year of experience) and the ability to write succinct, clean copy with a strong news knowledge. Must have a good broadcasting voice, be able to think on your feet for live-to-air work, and be willing to work weekends and shifts (early starts and late finishes). The role emphasizes establishing a wide range of contacts, developing skills across multiple platforms, and contributing to how a whole show comes together. Required Qualifications
- A journalism qualification
- preferred with at least one year of experience
- ability to write succinct, clean copy
- broadcasting experience is a plus
- newsroom experience or general knowledge of current events
- ability to work weekends and shifts including early starts and late finishes
- ability to establish contacts across ranges of platforms
- ability to work in a team and self-start
