Job Summary
Under the direction of the Program Coordinator or Program Director, the Instructor II will provide safe and challenging water fitness classes according to YMCA and safety guidelines; must be able to swim per test criteria; maintain certifications within 90 days; leverage 1-2 years of aquatic teaching experience to deliver engaging, safe instruction.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Minimum 1-2 years experience of teaching in an aquatic environment is required
- Has the ability to swim as determined by passing a swim test
- Must possess or obtain HCP within 90 days of employment, First Aid, Lifeguard or Aquatic Safety Assistant certification within 90 days of employment
- Current Swim Lesson Certification (YMCA or American Red Cross) or Water Exercise Certifications (YMCA, Arthritis Foundation, etc.)
