Job Summary
Joint SOF Trainer (Operations and Planning) IV for NAVSOF based at Little Creek, VA. Plan, direct, and coordinate activities to execute the Joint Event Life Cycle for training events supporting USSOCOM, TSOCs, and partner nations; provide training and exercise support across high-visibility programs; collaborate with USSOCOM Battle staff, Geographical GCCs, TSOCs, and partner nations; leverage Joint Training System (JTS), Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP), and Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX) to design, plan, and evaluate SOF operations and exercises; require 10+ years of operational-strategic SOF experience, senior staff engagement, and strong English communication; must be able to travel 11-20% and access federal facilities per Real ID; holds TS/SCI clearance; no visa sponsorship; American work authorization; on-site role in Virginia Beach with potential CONUS/OCONUS travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 10 years experience in SOF
- Associate’s degree with 15 years experience working in SOF
- prior (E8-E9, CW4-CW5, O4-O6) with 15 years experience working in SOF
- Current, active TS/SCI security clearance
- Minimum 10 years of operational-strategic special operations experience
- Minimum of 4 years of recent experience serving in a command, senior enlisted advisor, or primary staff billet in a SOF (USSOCOM/TSOC), Service, Joint Staff, OSD, or 3-4 Star level Service/GCC HQs within the past 8 years
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with the Joint Training System (joint exercise planning management)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in joint operations and operational-strategic level SOF planning and operations
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the Adaptive Planning and Execution System (APEX) and Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP)
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience directly interfacing with senior staff (O5/O6 and GOFO) at the TSOCs, Components, GCCs, Services, Interagency
- Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus
- Professional proficiency in English is required
- Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver’s license (proof of which will be required after hire) and ability to qualify for and maintain company liability insurance through a clean driving record
- Ability to access federal facilities in compliance with Real ID
