Job Summary
Joint SOF Trainer (Operations and Planning) IV supporting NAVSOF Coronado, CA. Plan, direct, and coordinate activities to execute the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) for training exercises, coordinating with USSOCOM Battle staff, GCCs, TSOCs, and partner nations. Requires 10+ years in SOF with TS/SCI clearance, 4+ years in senior staff/command roles, and expert proficiency with JOPP, APEX, Joint Training System, and MS Office. On-site in Coronado, CA; 11-20% travel; Real ID compliance and ability to access federal facilities. Prioritize Native American and spouse preferences per PL 93-638; U.S. work authorization required; no visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 10 years experience in SOF OR Associate’s degree with 15 years experience working in SOF
- Current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Minimum 10 years of operational-strategic special operations experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of recent experience serving in a command, senior enlisted advisor, or primary staff billet in a SOF (USSOCOM/TSOC), Service, Joint Staff, OSD, or 3-4 Star level Service/GCC HQs within the past 8 years.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with the Joint Training System (joint exercise planning management).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in joint operations and operational-strategic level SOF planning and operations.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the Adaptive Planning and Execution System (APEX) and Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP).
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience directly interfacing with senior staff (O5/O6 and GOFO) at the TSOCs, Components, GCCs, Services, Interagency.
- Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
- Professional proficiency in English is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license (proof of which will be required after hire) and ability to qualify for and maintain company liability insurance through a clean driving record.
- Ability to access federal facilities in compliance with Real ID.
